I have good news to share, and wish I could be sharing it with more people (so please tell your friends about this website)!!!
If you have visited The Prisoner's Friend Ministries home office, you realize that the ministry has expanded but Bro. & Sis. Koonce and I still kinda hold the fort down as far as the work is concerned. Oh yes, I'm very grateful for the ladies (Sis. Gladys, Sis. Barb, Sis. Sara, Sis. Edna) from the Gibson City Pentecostal Church who take home collating/stapling projects, and tract folding, etc.... and my youth group who put together the first course study packets. We couldn't do it without them ....
Not long ago, I posted a notice in the Chaplain Newsletter, looking for someone to help me with the website. Bro. Arbry Wall has written and is going to be assisting me with this great task. The Chaplain ministry is growing and with it's growth, our prison student enrollment has increased by leaps and bounds as well. The website is behind in it's updates, and I knew I needed HELP! So, I thank Bro. Wall for taking on this challenge.
Also, just last night I received a call from my niece who lives a couple of hours away from here. She had a day off and wanted to come do some work for the ministry! Wow, we really got the work done! While she was here, she agreed to take on the Pen-Pal Ministry. Nothing changes as far as where letters are sent - but she is going to help keep us organized! So, thank you Lord for Sis. Leigha.
When I start mentioning names, then I must thank Sis. Gayla who took on the task of signing and mailing out Birthday cards each month (Sis. Leigha helps her too AND they help w/Christmas cards too), my life-long friend, Sis. Treva travels a couple of hours every few months to help us file, and get ready for Conferences, and Sis. Becca who has put together a couple of really nice scrap books for the ministry and types special letters and articles that come in from prisoners. Rev. John and Sis. Lisa Koonce publish the Chaplain Newsletter. We are soooo very grateful for volunteers!
Did you realize that there was so much to be done? There are still tests to duplicate, data to enter, tests to grade, badges to order, labels to run, pictures to edit, packets to build, letters to write, Bibles to send, as well as a Witness article... lol. So, if you ever want to come work with us - please call! We'll find you some work, and we'll keep you busy!! This is a more-than-full-time ministry, AND we are so grateful to be a part!
So, sign the guest book, and welcome Bro. Wall on board to the website, and let us know what you think. Some of the changes will be quicker than others, but we hope to keep it fresh and exciting!
